About us

We're here to make
people healthier.

Sage started with a simple frustration: standing in a supermarket aisle, holding a package, and having no idea whether it was actually good for you.

Our mission

Food labels are written to be legally correct, not to be understood. Ingredient lists run thirty items long, health claims on the front rarely match the small print on the back, and "natural" can mean almost anything.

We believe eating well shouldn't require a nutrition degree. Sage exists to turn that wall of small print into something you can read in three seconds — a clear score, an honest explanation, and a version of that score that fits your body, your goals, and your allergies.

Small decisions, repeated every week, are what actually change a person's health. Our job is to make the better decision the easy one.

Our pact

A score is only worth something if it can't be bought. These are the promises we hold ourselves to.

Scores are never for sale

No brand can pay to raise its score, hide an ingredient, get featured, or be left out of Sage. Not now, not at any price.

No ads, no sponsored products

There are no ads inside Sage and no sponsored placements in your results. The app is funded by the people who use it — nobody else.

Your data is never the product

Your goals, preferences, allergies, and scan history stay on your phone. We don't track you, we don't build profiles, and we will never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy.

We tell you when we're not sure

Product data comes from the open Open Food Facts database and isn't always complete. When information is missing or a score is uncertain, we'd rather say so than pretend. Spotted something wrong? Tell us and we'll fix it.
